Proposed Plans and Objectives for the year 2009 – 2010

   Club Service
 Director : Rtn. Debashis Modak
 Membership Development & Retention Debabrata Joardar 
  • Membership retention plan will be formulated.
  • Membership strength will be increased by 5% - 10%
  • Prospective members will be inducted from unfilled classifications.
  • Special programs will be organized during Membership Development
 Attendance Kamal Kr Sarkar 
  • Efforts will be made to ensure that attendance in the RWM becomes more interesting, making members feel that they have spent an useful evening in the club meetings.
  • Attendance percentage to be increased at least by 20% over last year.
  • Personal phone calls to the absentee members will be used as a means of persuasion.
 Fellowship Swapan Kr Marwaha 
  • Bouquets and Greetings will be sent to the members and Annes on anniversaries and birthdays.
  • Goodwill visits will be made to neighboring clubs.
  • Family fellowship get-together, picnic, Bijoya / Diwali meets will be organized.
 Bulletin & Magazine Suman Ganguly 
  • The Club Bulletin- MAITREE will be published regularly as usual.
  • Important personal news of the members and highlights of Club activities will be featured.
  • District and International news will be published periodically.
  • Members, Annes & children will be encouraged to contribute educative and interesting articles to make the Bulletin more readable to members and their families.
  • Special programs will be organized during the month of April, Magazine Month.
 Rotary Information Suman Ganguly 
  • A short Rotary information talk will be delivered in every regular club meeting.
  • Rotary information will be printed regularly in the club Bulletin MAITREE.
  • ROTA QUIZ will be organized during January.
  • Members will be regularly informed about District activities in all the avenues of service.
 Public Relations Probir Roy 
  • Club will collaborate with local organizations in social and community projects in order to create awareness and understanding of Public Image of Rotary.
  • Club activities will be projected through different mass media to enhance the image of Rotary.
  • Celebrities and other well-known personalities will be involved to promote Rotary program.
  • Hoarding will be displayed for 4 WAY TEST in front of Chetla Boys’ School.
   Vocational Service

  • Programs will be taken up to promote the concept of self-employment among the youth.
  • Efforts will be made to organize Career Development Programs.
 Vocational Training Center Anjan Bhowmick 
  • Our PERMANENT VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER is established at RCC Nalgora. We are planning to start different kinds of vocational training over there.
  • Special vocational training programs will be undertaken for physically & mentally challenged youth.
  • Computer Literacy Program will be organised.
 Vocational Awards Pijush Ranjan Sengupta 
  • Vocational Awards will be presented to individuals who practice high ethical standards in their business/professions/careers and those who achieve exemplary vocational excellence in their field.
   Communiy Service

 Eye Care & Avoidable Blindness Amarjit Singh Thethi 
  • The Eye Check-up Camps will be organized with the minimum target of 100 patients.
  • Efforts will be made to provide spectacles to each and every patient.
  • Efforts will be made towards creating awareness for factors leading to blindness.
 Mother & Child Health Care (MCHC) Dr Amitabha Mukherjee 
  • Programs on Mother & Child Health Care and MALARIA CONTROL would be organized in association with established agencies.
  • Programs will be coordinated to look after the health, cleanliness and education of underprivileged children in collaboration with the local organization at both the RCCs.
  • Efforts will be made to form a new RCC at Garden Reach.
  • A Specific project will be constituted for physically challenged persons.
  • Project will be taken up at Calcutta Blind School.
 Medical & Health Care  
  • BLOOD DONATION CAMPs will be organized.
  • Health check-up camps will be organized in backward areas and villages.
  • Basic medical care and medicines will be provided at RCC Nawabad and Nalgora.
  • Special Camp for COMBAT TB will be arranged.
  • THALASSEMIA AWARENESS & DETECTION Camp will be set up.
 N o n - M e d i c a l
 Water Management Jayanta Kr Mitra 
  • Thrust area of activity to include alleviation of the problem of water scarcity in our community. Aqua guard or Drinking Water Taps will be installed in those areas in collaboration with local Municipal Corporation.
 Literacy Pinaki Sen Gupta 
  • Study materials will be provided to promote education for unprivileged children.
  • Efforts will be made to start Free Education Center for the unprivileged children in the RCC in collaboration with the local organization.
  • Recognize and felicitate local school students for excellence in studies and other activities.
 Welfare of Seniop Citizen Anindya Bose 
  • New Sarees / Dhoties will be handed over to the inmates of Old Age Home.
  • PUJA TOUR will be organized with the old age people.
  • Diwali Celebration will be arranged at SANTI NIVAS - Old Age Home.
 Interact & Rotaract Sujay Krishna Bhadra / Susanta Kr Das 
  • Activities of our existing Rotaract Club will be monitored and encouraged actively.
  • World Rotaract Week will be celebrated in a befitting manner.
  • Rotaractors will be motivated to organize Youth related programs and Service projects.
  • Efforts will be made to sponsor an Interact Club.
 Youth Activities  
  • Suitable candidates will be sponsored for GSE team & incoming GSE team will be hosted.
  • RYLA programs will be organized.
  • Special Programs will be organized on youth service during New Generations Month.
   International Service

 TRF & Twin Club Dipak Mitra 
  • We will aim at better Co-ordination with our partner-club i.e. TOP OF THE LAKE ROTARY CLUB OF MOORESVILLE, North Carolina, USA.
  • Efforts will be put in to develop a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the partner/twin club through different kind of community projects.
  • Suitable Matching Grant Projects to be identified. Efforts will be made to make a collaborative project with a club in a different country and also for obtaining special matching grants of TRF.
  • Members will be encouraged to establish ‘club to club’ contacts through personal efforts.
 Rotary Foundation Dipankar Dutta Gupta 
  • Members will be encouraged to contribute to Rotary Foundation.
  • Attempts will be made to identify candidates for different Rotary Foundation Awards and to sponsor them.
 Polio Plus Sudhanya Basu 
  • Propagating materials such as Aprons, Caps, Arm Bands and Banners will be collected from the District and distributed in the local areas.
  • Members will be encouraged to move around as observers on National Immunization Days.
